Versatile and forgiving, water-based acrylics may be manipulated with a wide array of methods, applied to many different surfaces, and modified with various additives. We will explore application techniques, surface variations, and the effect of medium additives to stretch the reach of our creativity. Small class size allows for individual instruction: students new to acrylics will learn introductory basics; more advanced students will further develop skills and explore new directions. The class may be taken multiple times; new subject matter is presented in each session. Canvases and boards will be provided by the instructor; registrants will receive a list of materials to bring to class via email after registration.  Course fee includes tuition and $12 canvas fee.

Wild and wonderful color! Learn a variety of techniques, color mixing principles, and special effects in acrylics. Students new to the medium will learn the basics, while more advanced students will enhance skills and explore new directions. New subject matter is presented in each session. Jump into an adventure and into the world of watercolor. Beginners will learn the basic tools and techniques of the medium; more advanced students are encouraged to explore new methods, materials and styles. You can grow as an artist with the class since it is offered throughout the year. A different approach or subject matter is presented each session. Watercolor paper will be provided by the instructor, along with individual instruction geared for your comfort level. Supply list will be provided. Course fee includes tuition and paper supply fee.

Learn to recognize and proportionally represent edges, shapes, negative space, line, and shadow. Class may be taken multiple times; lessons will vary from session to session. Students new to drawing instruction will learn basic techniques; more advanced students will further develop skills & explore new directions..  Course fee includes $20.00 supply fee.

Cartooning and Anime Fans ---Discover the wonderful world of digital art with inexpensive tools, hacks and free software.  This one-time class provides a great exploration before holiday wish lists are created!  Test drive some free cartooning programs with an expert, and take this opportunity to familiarize yourself with our digital tablets before you invest in one yourself.  Enrollment limited to 8, so don’t delay!  Course fee includes tuition and supplies.

Allow your child to experience the restorative power of creativity with multiple fine artists in the studios at Windy Knoll Farm. Each instructor will guide students in making art in a manner that fosters stress reduction, self-expression, and meditation. Lessons may include Asian Brush Painting, Zentangle, Meditative Dot Painting and more. All exercises provide channels for relaxation and focus. Each student will take away new pieces of art, greater confidence in their creative power, and positive techniques to continue to use in fostering health and wellness.  Course Fee includes $15.00 supply fee.

This class is designed for students (beginner to intermediate) who want to explore the unique principles of watercolor: transparency, speed, spontaneity.   Classes will emphasize and demonstrate brush work, color mixing, wash techniques, value patterns, design layout and composition. We will discover “technical tricks” with different tools: palette knives, butter knife, razor blade, plastic credit cards, and learn to make corrections by lifting out, washing out and sponging out already painted surfaces. Class may be taken multiple times; subject matter will vary among a variety of landscapes, seascapes, florals and still-life. Watercolor paper will be provided by the instructor. Supply list will be provided upon registration. Course Fee includes $12.00 paper supply fee.

Come make a gorgeous autumnal arrangement for your Thanksgiving celebration with expert florist Doug Burroughs of The Flower Gallery. Doug will guide guests step by step in the creation of a low profile centerpiece featuring curly willow branches, autumnal trim, and seasonal embellishments - perfect to adorn your dining table, foyer, or living room.  Doug will also share tips on arranging and conditioning flowers, and liven up the gathering with some fun door prizes!  No previous floral arranging experience needed. Fee includes all supplies.
