On Friday evenings June 2nd, July 7th & August 4th our downtown district will become an open air festival of dining, music, shopping & more. Do you own a  Digital SLR camera but feel you aren’t taking advantage of its capabilities? This class will help you understand what your camera has to offer. We’ll cover issues that are not unique to digital cameras, such as basic camera operations, exposure, light metering, depth of field, ISO settings, as well as issues that are unique to digital cameras such as navigating, jpeg versus raw, setting white balance, color correction, understanding the histogram and more.  Class suitable for any model DSLR Camera -- Canon, Nikon, Sony & more.

Cool, moldable, malleable clay - one of the great tactile wonders of the art world! Join this class to learn several techniques of clay hand-building. We will create a pinch pot, a slab pot, a coil-built pot, and a free-form animal sculpture. Through this process, we will also be exploring three dimensional form and function. We will finish our pieces with paint and a variety of creative embellishments.

Camp fee includes $25.00 supply fee.

Using Adobe Photoshop as the drawing platform and a mouse or tablet, students can digitize their personal drawings, landscapes, or abstract artwork.  Print black and white and/or color final artwork in class. All art experience levels will find this instruction and practice to be beneficial; parents with their children are welcome!

Explore the powers of the third dimension in this diverse approach to sculpture. You will have creative freedom regarding the source of your inspiration. Build anything from whimsical characters to abstract constructs—the sky is the limit! Using wire, wood, clay & more, we will develop and improve modeling skills and the ability to “see” the three dimensional art in the making.

Camp fee includes $20.00 supply fee.

The Zentangle Method is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. Almost anyone can use the Zentangle Method, and the one-stroke-at-a-time process fosters focus and creativity, while providing artistic satisfaction and increased sense of personal well-being. Instruction is provided by a certified Zentangle instructor. Each student will learn the basic steps and receive the proper tools needed to continue “tangling” at home.

Come learn introductory weaving techniques on traditional and non-traditional looms, using paper, yarn and fabric! We will manipulate materials through the weft and warp layout to create wearable, displayable, useful art…maybe even a woven cell phone case!
