Explore the visual splendor of summer in full bloom! We will create 2-D and 3-D art inspired by nature’s lush diversity. Projects may include symmetrical insects, multi-media butterfly mobiles, big, beautiful flower sculptures and fabric art. Much more awaits you so come join us for a week of creativity!

Camp fee includes $30.00 supply fee.

Looking for a picture-perfect opportunity this summer? Take your work to the next level using this chance to explore with your digital camera and make professional-quality photographs. We’ll use Historic Old Town as a photo-shoot location, bring back digital files, and download them onto computers. We will manipulate these fabulous raw photos in Adobe Photoshop to produce compelling graphic compositions. Class limited to 8 students.

Camp fee includes tuition and $10 supply fee.

Instructor:  Emily Thomson

Great illustrators masterfully bend realism to suit their visual storytelling and capture the reader’s imagination. Learn techniques, tips and tricks from published children’s book illustrator Emily Thomson. Topics will include the use of thumbnail sketches, creation of polished line drawings, inking and hand coloring techniques. You will take away a better understanding of how to convey a character’s personality and develop your own style. Bring some of your favorite animal photographs to use as visual references; we will have more for your choosing, too. Materials will be provided.

Course fee includes tuition and $25.00 supply fee.

Dance Programs

Join us for the fabulous dance sessions one Sunday of each month at the Center for the Arts; or try out a dance class with one of our fabulous teachers. Beginners and advanced dancers are all welcome.

Arts on the Go

The Arts on the Go project consists of four self-contained interactive exhibits, each with a distinct theme. Two modules (Habitats and Energy Matters) have been designed for use in elementary schools, and two other modules (PowerUP! and Biomes of the World) has been created for middle school students.
