Disney's NEWSIES

Pied Piper Theatre brings its high steppin’, sensational production of Disney’s NEWSIES to the Hylton stage! It’s the summer of 1899 and New York City’s newsboys are on strike against William Randolph Hearst’s New York Journal and Joseph Pulitzer’s New York World. Protesting price hikes for the newspapers they are selling, the newsies refuse to work and form a union to demand a price reduction. NEWSIES won Tony awards in 2012 for Best Actor, Best Choreography, and Best Original Score with several nominations including Best Musical. Outstanding choreography and dynamic songs such as “Santa Fe” and the popular “King of New York” highlight this amazing production with music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Jack Feldman, and book by Harvey Fierstein. Based on the Disney Film written by Bob Tzudiker and Noni White it was originally produced on Broadway by Disney Theatrical Production. Don’t miss your opportunity to “Seize the Day” and see NEWSIES!

Performances for NEWSIES are January 12 at 2PM & 7PM and January 13 at 3PM at the Hylton Performing Arts Center. Snow dates are February 2 and 3. All actors MUST be available for the snow dates.

Disney's "Newsies" is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International. All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI. 421 West 55th St., New York, NY 10019. T: 212-541-4684.

Schedule for Newsies: Rehearsals are held at the Center for the Arts (9419 Battle Street); and Baldwin Elementary School (1978 Eagle Way, Manassas) on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM and Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
