The Center for the Arts’ nationally recognized Pied Piper Theatre (PPT), welcomes young people ages 8 through 18 to explore the world of theatre both on the stage and behind the curtain. Offering three fully staged musical presentations a year, this award-winning children’s theatre provides dramatic and musical theatre training while building confidence, responsibility, and self-esteem.
Hundreds of extraordinarily talented youth have performed in the last two decades in such popular musical productions as Cinderella, Annie, Peter Pan, Oliver!, Disney’s Beauty & the Beast and The Wizard of Oz. PPT offers a training program in technical theatre, providing opportunities for students to learn stage management, set design, lighting, and sound. Classes are offered throughout the year and a full range of summer camps are available for ages 5 – adult. PPT kids may also participate in local video opportunities!

Disney’s The Little Mermaid follows the beautiful young mermaid, Ariel, who longs to leave the ocean and walk in the world above the sea. Against the wishes of her father, King Triton, she makes a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, and meets Prince Eric on her first adventure on land. With the help of her best friends Flounder, Sebastian the crab, and Scuttle the seagull, Ariel attempts to break the curse of the sea witch. The Little Mermaid will be showing at the Hylton Performing Arts Center April 28, 2018 at 2pm and 7pm and April 29, 2018 at 3pm. Tickets are available for purchase online or in person at the Hylton Box office Tuesday-Saturday from 10AM to 6PM. Tickets for children 12 months and under are free, but you MUST call the box office for lap tickets. Group rates are also available to Scout Troops, 4-H clubs, School groups, etc. Groups must be 8 or more people. Call the Center's office at (703) 330-2787 during business hours to purchase tickets at the group rate.
