Using a "marudai" frame we will learn to weave this beautiful necklace in a traditional or contemporary style of cord. The Kumihimo pattern is based upon the technique used to weave a samurai’s belt. The resulting cord looks intricate, but a complete necklace may be woven in one class session by absolute beginners. When the base necklace is finished, it can be embellished with beads. The marudai braiding frame will be available for use during class. Session enrollment limited to six students, so sign up early! Supply fee of $25 per student to be paid to instructor.
