This class is designed for the beginner. Take this opportunity to work step by step in non-toxic, solvent-free walnut oil paints to achieve a completed landscape painting. Color mixing, composition, technique, and material properties will be addressed. You will leave class with the knowledge to continue working on your own in walnut oils. Bring your favorite landscape photograph to use as a visual reference. Paints & canvases provided by Center. Students will bring brushes & palettes; materials list will be sent to registrants. Course Fee includes tuition and supply fee.

Explore the endless possibilities when using fluid and dry media together to make beautiful art. Working with watercolor, gouache, brushes, pencils, pens and ink we will blend line, stroke, wash, transparent and opaque color to create compelling compositions with subtle and bold textural variation. Subject matter options may vary among a variety of landscapes, seascapes, florals, still-life, and abstraction. Watercolor paper will be provided by the instructor. Supply list will be provided upon registration. Course Fee includes $12.00 paper supply fee.

Versatile and forgiving, water-based acrylics lend themselves to a variety of techniques, and can be used on many different surfaces. Students new to acrylics will learn basic tools & techniques; more advanced students will further develop skills and explore new directions. New subject matter is presented in each session. Supply list provided.

The Arts on the Go project consists of three self-contained interactive exhibits, each with a distinct theme.  Two modules (Habitats and Energy Matters) have been designed for use in elementary schools, and a third module (PowerUP!) has been created for middle school students.
